A Deeper Clean for Congested, Acne-Prone Skin
Our Deep Cleansing & Clarifying Acne Facial is designed for skin with more significant congestion — generally when 25% or more of the face is affected by blackheads, pimples and/or enlarged, congested pores.
This isn’t simply a facial with a few extractions added in. We use double extractions, professional exfoliation and an Oxygen Rx treatment to thoroughly address congestion while calming and supporting acne-prone skin.
If breakouts, blackheads and clogged pores have become an ongoing problem, this is where we start working toward clearer skin.
Let’s Get the Congestion Under Control
We begin by thoroughly cleansing the skin with Vitamin Veil Cleanser and Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser, followed by an enzyme selected for your skin.
From there, we perform two rounds of extractions to spend more time addressing blackheads, clogged pores and areas of congestion.
Your facial also includes our Oxygen Rx Treatment, followed by targeted products including Spot Stop, Aloe Calendula Mist, Hydralox Serum and Chrono Calm to support and calm the skin after treatment.
We finish with Light Day Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 37 before you leave.
The goal isn’t to aggressively attack acne or leave your skin irritated. We want to thoroughly clean congested pores while also being thoughtful about inflammation and the condition of your skin barrier.
Clearing Acne Usually Takes More Than One Appointment
When you’re dealing with ongoing breakouts and significant congestion, we don’t expect one facial to undo everything happening in your skin.
We generally recommend the Deep Cleansing & Clarifying Acne Facial every 2–4 weeks while we’re actively working toward improved skin clarity.
Once your skin is clearer and the heavier congestion is under control, you can transition into our regular Cleansing & Clarifying Facial every 4–8 weeks for maintenance.
Your exact schedule will depend on how congested your skin is, how quickly it responds and — importantly — what you’re doing with your skin between appointments.
What You Do at Home Matters
When we’re working on acne, your home skincare routine is just as important as what we do in the treatment room.
For clients who need a simple place to start, we may recommend the Circadia Acne Regimen Bundle, which includes Cleansing Gel with Mandelic Acid, Spot Stop, White Willow & Juniper Clearing Mist and Daytime Control.
For clients who need more support, we can build a more complete acne routine using products such as Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser, Cleansing Gel with Salicylic Acid, Daytime Control and Nighttime Control.
These products allow us to work on excess oil, follicular congestion and inflammation between your professional acne facials instead of starting over every time you come in.
Your routine doesn’t need to be complicated just for the sake of being complicated. We’ll recommend what makes sense based on what your skin is actually doing.
Acne + Dark Marks & Scarring
Sometimes getting the active acne under control is only part of the process.
If your breakouts tend to leave behind dark spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or lingering redness, we may adjust your home routine to start addressing those concerns as well.
Depending on your skin, that may include Almondola Milk Cleanser, Bright White Serum and daily Broad Spectrum SPF 37.
We may eventually recommend incorporating one or two Hyperpigmentation Brightening Facials or Hydrating Lactic Acid Peels to work more directly on discoloration and post-acne marks.
But timing matters.
We don’t introduce those treatments while you’re still dealing with pustules, whiteheads or moderate-to-severe inflammation. Active acne comes first. Once the skin is ready, we can start working more aggressively on what the breakouts left behind.
Large Pores, Makeup, Sports & Outdoor Lifestyles
Some clients need a little more help keeping their pores clear simply because of what their skin encounters every day.
If you regularly wear makeup, play sports, work outdoors, sweat heavily or struggle with large and easily congested pores, we may recommend double cleansing morning and night.
That can include Vitamin Veil Cleanser first to lift oil, sebum, sunscreen and buildup, followed by a 90-second cleanse with Almondola Cleanser.
Depending on your skin, we may also recommend Daytime Control and Spot Stop during the day, followed by Nighttime Control or Serum 71 after your evening cleanse.
This is a more involved — and more expensive — routine, so we generally reserve it for clients who really need it and know they’ll be consistent enough to make it worthwhile.
A Few Things That Can Make a Big Difference
Acne isn’t only about what you put directly on your face.
If you regularly wear hats or helmets, they can continually come into contact with acne-prone areas. We recommend keeping them clean and using White Willow & Juniper Clearing Mist on surfaces that regularly touch your skin.
And if you’re a picker, keep Spot Stop nearby. Giving yourself something productive to put on a breakout is a much better option than squeezing and picking at it, which can increase irritation and make post-acne discoloration more difficult to manage.
Important: If you have an aspirin allergy, please tell us before beginning an acne regimen containing salicylic acid. Salicylates can be a concern for people with aspirin hypersensitivity, so we’ll help you choose an appropriate alternative.
Our Goal Is Clearer, More Manageable Skin
Acne treatment doesn’t have to mean stripping your skin, aggressively extracting everything at once or buying ten products on your first visit.
We start with what your skin needs now.
For some clients, that’s professional acne extractions and Oxygen Rx treatments every few weeks. For others, the biggest improvement comes from finally getting their home routine right. And once active breakouts are under control, we can shift our attention toward maintenance, pigmentation, texture and the marks acne may have left behind.
The goal is to progressively move your skin from active correction → improved clarity → regular maintenance.
