Hyperpigmentation Facial

Brighten + Even Skin Tone + Target Stubborn Dark Spots

Dark spots and uneven skin tone usually don’t appear overnight — and unfortunately, they don’t disappear overnight either.

Our 45-minute Hyperpigmentation Brightening Facial is designed specifically for clients dealing with dark spots, uneven skin tone, sun damage, hormonal pigmentation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation left behind after acne or skin irritation.

This brightening facial combines professional exfoliation with antioxidants, botanical extracts, hydration and pigment-focused skincare to remove dull surface buildup and help reduce the appearance of unwanted pigmentation. We also use products designed to help inhibit excess melanin production so we’re not only working on what you can already see at the surface.

The goal is progressively brighter, more even and luminous-looking skin.

Why Do Dark Spots Keep Appearing?

Melanin is the pigment that gives your skin its color. Hyperpigmentation develops when certain areas of the skin produce more melanin than they should.

There are quite a few reasons this can happen.

Sun exposure is one of the biggest contributors, especially here in Florida. Hormonal changes associated with pregnancy or birth control can also contribute to pigmentation. Skin injuries — including acne, cuts and burns — can leave behind what we call post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).

Because the cause isn’t the same for everyone, treating hyperpigmentation isn’t simply about scrubbing a dark spot until it disappears. We need to work on existing discoloration while also protecting the skin and limiting the triggers that encourage additional pigmentation.

How We Work on Pigmentation

We begin by thoroughly cleansing your skin with Vitamin Veil Cleanser and Amandola Milk Cleanser, followed by an enzyme selected for your skin to help exfoliate dull surface cells.

From there, we begin layering our brightening and hydrating products.

Vitamin C Reversal Serum provides antioxidant support, while Hydralox Serum and AquaPorin Hydrating Cream help maintain hydration throughout the treatment.

We also incorporate our Licorice & Bearberry Brightening Mist, which contains ingredients selected to help address excess pigmentation, followed by the Australian Super Berry Antioxidant Mask for additional antioxidant and brightening support.

We finish with Post Peel Balm and Light Day Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 37 to hydrate and protect your skin before you leave.

Pigmentation Takes Consistency

This is one of those skin concerns where consistency really matters.

For clients actively working on hyperpigmentation, we generally recommend starting with 2–3 Hyperpigmentation Brightening Facials spaced approximately 2–3 weeks apart.

From there, we may recommend another 3–4 treatments approximately once a month, combined with consistent home care.

Think of it similarly to working on acne. Your skin didn’t develop this pigmentation overnight, so meaningful changes usually require some patience and effort rather than one aggressive treatment.

The good news is that we have several ways to progressively work on it.

When Your Pigmentation Needs a Little More Help

Some dark spots are stubborn.

Depending on how your skin responds, we may eventually recommend incorporating a Hydrating Lactic Acid Peel to more directly target persistent areas of pigmentation.

This becomes especially important when more than approximately 25% of the face is affected by hyperpigmentation.

Rather than unnecessarily peeling your entire face, the lactic acid peel can also be used strategically to spot-treat areas of more stubborn pigmentation when appropriate.

We’ll determine when — and if — your skin is ready for that step based on how it responds to your brightening treatments and home care.

What You Do at Home Is a Big Part of This Treatment

Professional brightening facials can only take you so far if the skin isn’t being supported between appointments.

For clients actively working on hyperpigmentation, we may recommend cleansing twice daily with Cleansing Gel with Mandelic Acid.

During the day, Broad Spectrum SPF 37 is essential. If you’re working this hard to reduce pigmentation, repeatedly exposing unprotected skin to UV radiation works directly against that goal.

At night, we may incorporate White Veil Brightener and Bright White Serum.

Bright White Serum is used more specifically on areas of stubborn pigmentation, while White Veil Brightener provides more general brightening support across the skin. Depending on your routine, Licorice & Bearberry Brightening Mist may also be incorporated.

The goal isn’t to bleach your skin or change your natural skin tone. We’re working toward a more even appearance by targeting areas where excess pigment has developed.

If Your Skin Starts Feeling Dry

Brightening routines involve active ingredients, and occasionally your skin may start telling us that it needs a little more hydration.

If you begin experiencing dryness, tightness or chapping after your first few treatments, don’t just keep piling on more brightening products.

We may adjust your nighttime routine by adding Vitamin Veil Cleanser as a pre-cleanse followed by Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser, and/or incorporate Post Peel Balm after cleansing to provide additional support.

Your skincare regimen should be able to change as your skin changes.

Hyperpigmentation Brightening Facial

45 Minutes — $89

Designed for sun damage, dark spots, uneven skin tone, hormonal pigmentation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, with professional exfoliation, antioxidants, brightening botanicals and hydration.

Brighter Skin Is a Process

If you’re looking for a hyperpigmentation facial in Clearwater for dark spots, sun damage, uneven skin tone or acne-related discoloration, we’ll help you build a treatment plan that makes sense for your skin.

For some clients, that means several consecutive brightening facials and consistent home care. For others, we may eventually incorporate a Hydrating Lactic Acid Peel to work on particularly stubborn areas.

Either way, we’re looking for steady improvement — not an aggressive overnight fix that leaves your skin angry.

Book your Hyperpigmentation Brightening Facial at Clearwater Facial Spa online, and we’ll start working toward a brighter, more even-looking complexion.
